I was taught it was selfish to love or think of yourself first…

Now I know that loving yourself, means to turn kindness inwards and the first step, to being able to love anyone else. To eat, sleep, speak, etc. with love, mindfulness and  forgiveness to yourself,  as you would to another person, even a stranger. I am guilty of not being kind, patient and compassionate with myself at times. I do try to remind myself of self love and forgiveness. I find I can be my worst critic, my biggest enemy , unforgiving and lacking in empathy towards myself.

So as I work on finding this forgiveness for myself, I share with my friends and others that they should find it within themselves as well. I don’t need to know you or your story to know, that you probably beat yourself up more than anyone else would or has. Stop being your own worst enemy!
