The attitude of gratitude is a mentality that honors your soul and power. By focusing on the positive things in our lives, the people we are close to, and the experiences we have, we are able to recognize the good in our lives. Good energy attracts good things.
Not only does this routine acknowledge the many things you may take for granted every day but it also creates a positive mindset to start your day. Chances are if you wake up happy you will remain happy for the rest of the day. People who have this attitude of gratitude tend to live happier and more positive lives. There are many things to be grateful for, even when you feel like there isn’t.
The attitude of gratitude
When you are maintaining an attitude of gratitude, you give thanks for your current circumstance. It’s the way you see it, however, that has the power to change things. Instead of stressing over an untidy room, try to be thankful for the abundance of items. You may not like your job but you can focus on the positive and be appreciative for the opportunity and stability.
It’s all about your perspective. Your perspective is very important because it controls everything. The way you look at things is based on your perspective. In other terms, it will make your life easier if you focus on the bright side of things. What we choose to see reflects on our outlook.
When you express your gratitude, you are acknowledging your higher power. Whoever you are addressing as your higher power, make sure you give your thanks. Acknowledging your blessings grant you with more blessings. Life does happen so some of the unfavorable things may not stop happening. But by keeping the attitude of gratitude, you can turn your life around and have things work in your favor.
Once maintaining this mentality becomes a habit of yours, you will begin to notice your mind starting to explore the possibilities this attitude has to offer. Once you get the hang of expressing gratitude on a daily basis, you will see how magical it can be. That magic is cast upon you if only you supply the energy to excite it. You won’t begin to experience this magic until you focus on what can be rather than what can’t.
It may sound like a bunch of hocus pocus but watch as the Universe will show you what it’s really capable of and what you are really capable of. Magic!
Think of 5 things you are thankful for every morning before you get out of bed and 5 things you are thankful for before you go to sleep. You can say them out loud, in your head, or even write them down. This may seem a little extreme at first but sparing 1 minute of your day won’t kill you. In fact, it will make your day better. I have found using a journal to be the most efficient in developing this habit.
Writing about the things you are thankful for before getting out of bed allows you to begin each day on a positive note. After a few mornings of writing in your journal, you will soon realize how fortunate you are to wake up every morning and be able to express the awesome things you have or got going for you.
Writing before bed helps you realize how fortunate you were to experience the day you had. Making the positive list before bed will aid you into better sleep. Then, in the morning, you can express your gratitude and repeat this cycle all over again. It will become a routine before you know it.
Good luck, express graciousness and be good.
