Every Mercury Retrograde in 2020, Plus 6 Other *Major* Astrological Events Coming Your Way By ALISE MORALES

2020 is just around the corner, and the heavens have some major changes in store for us earth dwellers. Astrologically, 2020 is going to be a year of major growth, change and reflection. It’s going to be a great year for career successes and wealth building, but a more difficult year surrounding relationships, particularly intimate relationships, which might be strained by the rapid pace of changes taking place in both partners’ lives. 2020 will also begin in a new Age of Aquarius, wrapping up the heavy earth energy of the past 20 years and ushering in a new rule dominated by the element air.

In order to plan for all the amazing changes and challenges the year will bring, here are some astrological events to keep in mind, from all three Mercury retrogrades in 2020 to the Jupiter and Saturn conjunction in December.

Mercury retrograde in 2020

Let’s get this one out of the way first. Good old Mercury will go into retrograde three times next year:

1. February 17 to March 10
2. June 18 to July 12
3. October 14 to November 3

This will bring the usual issues with technology and communication, so it will be imperative to pay extra attention to your relationships during this time as they may already be strained by the other changes 2020 will bring.

Other retrogrades to watch in 2020

In addition to Mercury, Venus will go into retrograde from May 13 to June 25, and Pluto will be in retrograde from April 24 to October 4. Venus in retrograde could bring up a lot of problems for couples, leaving them feeling less able to express their love for each other and causing them to place blame where it is not due. During Pluto’s retrograde, sudden rapid changes could lead to a period of withdrawal, even for the most social signs. This could be marked by the sudden loss of a relationship, which will be painful, but ultimately the spiritual growth that loss brings will help you overcome.

Lunar eclipses in 2020

There will be four lunar eclipses:

1. January 10
2. June 5
3. July 5
4. November 30

These eclipses serve as periods of self-reflection, asking us to reevaluate our life as it stands. In essence, they are astrological checkpoints and will be particularly powerful in 2020, when major growth and changes can be expected across the board.

Jupiter in Capricorn in 2020

This year, Jupiter moves into Capricorn, ushering in a time of increased diligence, discipline and responsibility. Jupiter’s influence will be felt particularly when creating and reevaluating long-term goals, as it helps you open your mind to future possibilities with confidence and ambition.

Jupiter and Saturn conjunction 2020

One of the most influential astrological events of 2020 will take place on December 21, when Jupiter and Saturn conjoin for the first time in 20 years. This will be a time when all the hard work you put in and the difficulties you faced over the course of the year help to create a time of renewed fertility and growth. It will be a time of leaving behind the things that have not served you over the course of this year, which means you can focus on new adventures and opportunities. Because Jupiter and Saturn will be journeying to this conjunction over the course of the year, 2020 will be imbued with a sense of high anticipation and excitement as we all wait for the new Age of Aquarius to begin.
